The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften - ISAS - e. For the department of Bio-imaging and the department of Biomarkers (Spatial Metabolomics group) at our location in Dortmund, we are looking for a

Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks:
  • Work on Python-based “napari” plugin development under the guidance of the senior software engineer in the team
  • Participate in the preparation of software documentation for users
  • Perform and develop beta testing of the software with internal and external users
  • Assist in the alpha release and maintenance of the software
  • Assist in image analysis and multimodal data analysis using the developed software
Your profile:
  • A completed vocational training with IT reference or a bachelor degree or master degree in computer science/engineering or relevant scientific field; Masters students are also welcome
  • Proficient in scientific Python programming
  • Familiar with version control and open-source software development
  • Proactive, independent and solution-oriented way of working
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Experience with PyQtGraph or napari is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of microscopy imaging or mass spectrometry or chemical imaging is a plus
